I have been a special education teacher for 15 years.  I have had the opportunity to work with students in grades K-12th grade over the course of my career.  I currently teach in Aitkin, MN at the high school.  While completing my Masters degree in Educational Leadership, I met Alesha.  We quickly discovered that we both share a passion for teaching social skills and building positive rapport with students.  After two years of research, we have put our energy and passion into Calming The Storm Regulating Behavior.  We are thrilled to be on this journey together!  Our research and curriculum continue to develop.  We are so excited to share with you!

I have been part of the Brainerd Public School District for the past five years. My journey started as a Special education assistant when I realized I have a true passion for the special education field. I have worked with a variety of special needs students. Currently, I serve as an emotional behavior disability teacher at Harrison Elementary in Brainerd, MN. While completing my Masters degree in educational leadership, I had the chance to team up with my partner, Lainey, who shares the same passion and determination for students as I do. Through our research, we have put our determination into creating Calming The Storm Regulating Behavior. Our mission is to create a systematic approach to regulating the social, emotional, and educational needs of students through our extensive, thriving curriculum.  Thank you for being a part of the journey!
